Say you downloaded movies from scene, sub included, usually it’s on sub + idx format. Many media player don’t work well with this, or you just want plain srt files. What you need is D-Subtitler, OCR (Optical character recognition) app, it scan an image and encode it into text. This is an old released app. Sometimes the result is just muddy.

Way to do it:

• Change extension *.sub to *.vob
• Drag and drop to D-Subtitler. When it says it’s waiting, click on the green circle (I always thought I have to wait for something).
• So far all subs I got only work with Choice of gray levels: 255,255,0,255
• Use TextEdit to scan any error (Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar ) ⌘:
• You can use more complex and serious app like MovCaptioner. This is actually used for captioning.

On the Oscar day, I actually want to upload subtitle for El secreto de sus ojos (foreign language winner), but I deleted it accidentally. It isn’t serious detective stuff. But overall it’s nice. Yeah, better than prophète, weisse band, and of course la teta asustada.

2010. Still waiting for better release of Percy Jackson. Curious about Prince of Persia, I played it once. Eat, Pray, Love, it was shot in Bali. There’s avatar this year too :D. The last airbender. What else?  Trilogy… Toy Story, Twilight (bleh, Vomit’s releases type). Damn, I forgot. Tron Legacy, epic?

Someone asked me for recommendation last month. So, for this month; I’m not watching Crazy Heart yet, but I think we must (3 oscar nomination – countdown to live event, 5 days).
[Rec] 2 is out, it’s mediocre, but it’s the sequel, continuation from the first one.

Animation. You must see Logorama, short animation, oscar nominee. $9.99 is nice, and Penguins quartet got their own DVD, though half of the DVD come from the series.

One more thing, ブリーチ project finished last month, [47.61 GB]₁₀ too many to watch, and I finished DLing-watching Californication season 3 in one day.

Just like Emmy. Remember Dr. Horrible interrupted the Ernst and Young voting explanation? So here it is. And my choices are a little subjectively too. Something like, I don’t like old people’s movies.

Best Motion Picture – Drama: Inglourious Basterds (2009).

Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy: (500) Days of Summer (2009). This one rather fit drama-romance + comedy (I just made up this category). But I found that The Hangover (2009) is not so funny. It’s Complicated (2009) is crap – the old people’s movies. Julie is okay, Julia is annoying, especially her voice. Nine (2009) is not released yet in pirate’s world.

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama: George Clooney for Up in the Air (2009), job with traveling involved ftw, and I’ve only watched this and Invictus (2009) for the time being.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama: Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side (2009). Carey Mulligan is fairly good. I watched The Young Victoria (2009) a while ago, don’t remember much, first time I heard of The Last Station (2009), not interested in Precious (go under the radar if it wasn’t publicized by Oprah?).

Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy: Joseph Gordon-Levitt for (500) Days of Summer (2009), only watched this and A Serious Man (2009) yet. Just got Sherlock Holmes (2009) yesterday.

Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy: Sandra Bullock for The Proposal (2009). Duplicity (2009) is musical, comedy? Hate Meryl Streep btw.

Best Director – Motion Picture: James Cameron for Avatar (2009), though when I watched this in the movies (3D) I was sleepy and uncomfortable. Still waiting for 720p or something.

Best Screenplay – Motion Picture: Inglourious Basterds (2009): Quentin Tarantino.

Best Animated Film: Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009). The Princess and the Frog (2009) came out yesterday too (the only one I’m not watching yet). But it looks like too ‘kids‘, like Up (2009).

Best Foreign Language Film: Los abrazos rotos (2009), the only one I’ve watched yet, it won Critics Choice Awards anyway.

Best Television Series – Drama: “House M.D.” (2004). Too much drama in the last season of “Dexter” (2006), boring.

Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy: “Modern Family” (2009), “Entourage” (2004) as runner-up. “30 Rock” (2006) is not funny, freak, I don’t like any of the crews. Don’t know how can they won Emmy three years in the row. I don’t like arrogant boss in “The Office” (2005), not so funny anyway. “Glee” (2009)… meh, high school musical?

Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television: “Little Dorrit” (2008) and Taking Chance (2009) are good. Grey Gardens (2009) is boring eccentric.

I think that’s it. I’m not covering all categories. Let’s look who is winning tonight.

Antasari. Everyone in Indonesia who read, hear, watch the news, media, for sure know about this scandal. At first, I want to know what’s it all about, cause everyday I saw it in the news. But now hell with that. The last thing I know about this case is my lecturer became an expert witness in this case. Meh. Mafia and their associate.

I’m fed up with the game playing in politics. No one knows anymore, who’s right, who’s wrong, who’s telling the truth, everybody lies, says House, except to Google, people don’t lie to Google.

Now the wife. The Good Wife. It’s a TV show in CBS. New episode just aired yesterday. And I realized, the story somehow is similar to this case. Her husband is District Attorney, having an affair, troubled with his job, and jailed. But she remained loyal to her husband (just like Antasari’s wife), and it looks like her husband is being set-up. We don’t know what will happen next, it still half season.

This is also reminds me of 12 Angry Men (1957), story about a boy, who’s accused of killing his own father, he looks guilty in court, but in the end one juror can convince eleven other juror that the boy is not guilty.

Will you tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?

Smoron is the fit word to describe the life of teenager in Skins. Their life just something like be with my friends having a laugh somewhere, doing crazy stuff, f*ing each other (literally), and who know how they pay their life expense? But these series have many nice scene view like this gold one below. It shows many nice landscape in England, there’s also one scene like the one from Emma. Yeah, that’s Skins, provoking story of beautiful and f*up life of teenager.

Once (2006) and Away We Go (2009). Not just the poster. I watched Away We Go few week ago. The story also somehow reminds me of Once. Simple life-love story of a couple. Good soundtrack too. 7 for Away We Go. Nice dialogue and storyline, but kinda slow and miss one or two points in the way. Once a little bit better, 8.
